  • The course is recommended for actors and directors.
  • For people that like working as part of a team and like the idea of creating something out of nothing.

This year Kevin celebrates the best of Irish Plays.

Kevin sets out his stall with nudges to storytelling, sound, movement and improvisation. He is looking for that moment of magic that occurs when actors come alive before our eyes because they are “in the moment.”

Among other things, Kevin gets everyone to experience and understand what this phrase “in the moment” means. His approach is down to earth, practical and often laughter inducing. He believes that the important things you need to play any part are in the actor’s head and a good director has the job of realising them from everyone in the cast.

His focus will be duologues from the best Irish plays ever written. So what are the best plays and who decides? On this course you do. In the months before the course, Kevin invites participants to suggest their best three Irish plays. He also has a few suggestions of his own so that the course looks at different styles and ages of theatre.

The course is recommended for actors and directors who want to challenge themselves to be open on stage. The team atmosphere is very important as the group shares the joys and hardships of life expressed through theatre. Whether you have worked with Kevin before or do not know him from Adam, he welcomes everyone to a space we make for the best Irish theatre.

In the past, Kevin has given many courses at StageWorks on Brecht, Shakespeare, Stanislavski and Chekhov, Comedia dell’arte and duologues of all theatrical styles and conventions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
