Using drama exercises to help students explore playwriting in a fun, safe, creative environment, each participant will write their own short play during the course of the week’s workshops.
While improvisation and process drama techniques will help participants understand and gain confidence in the concept of storytelling, specifically focusing on playwriting, part of the day will also be dedicated to writing.
Character, structure, and dialogue, will be investigated as well as the concept of inspiration, and using the senses as well as the intellect when writing.
At the end of the week, each participant will be given the chance to hear their finished play read, in rehearsed reading finale.
