COURSE C 2019: Perfect Primary Music Practice -Shane Farrell plus specialised daily tutors

Exploration of Music in the Primary School Classroom through a variety of daily workshops
Co-ordinated by Shane Farrell

The Arts Education curriculum consists of three subjects: Music, Drama and Visual arts. The curriculum enables children to creatively express ideas, feelings and experiences through music, drama and the visual arts.

Music is for children from Junior Infants to sixth class. Children are introduced to music reading and writing, to song singing and to playing classroom instruments.

The Music curriculum has three interrelated strands:

  1. Listening and Responding
  2. Performing
  3. Composing.

The current curriculum was introduced as part of the Primary School Curriculum (1999).

Throughout the week, there will be a number of workshop tutors on this module, covering all aspects of the Primary School Music Curriculum, which will give you loads of ideas and resources to bring back to your class in September. This is the perfect course for Primary School teachers.
