Shane Farrell is returning to Stageworks with a new and exciting programme entitled ‘From Galway to Broadway’. This fun and friendly course will be based on the music of the world’s most most famous musicals. You will learn and perform songs from musicals such as: Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera, Billy Elliot, Hamilton, Legally Blonde ’ to name but a few!
Throughout this course, you will also spend time working with a director & choreographer on scenes from musicals working towards an end of week performance. As well as this, you will all have a day working with a professional vocal coach, to perfect your vocal technique.
This performance-based musical theatre course is open to all, regardless of experience and is an excellent way to develop your vocal ability and love of musical theatre in a relaxed and professional environment.

COURSE TUTOR: SHANE FARRELL
As a student in St. Jarlath’s College in Tuam, Shane got the musical bug from the Late Noel Kirrane and Joe Donoghue. Shane now lives in Loughrea with his wife Clodagh and four children; Tadhg, Teagan, Moya and Baby Sadie. Shane holds a degree in Music and Theology and recently started studying a Masters in Music Education. Shane is currently a secondary school teacher in Ursuline Secondary School in Thurles. Since his days in St. Jarlath’s, Shane has become a popular freelance Musical Director, much in demand with many groups around Connaught and Munster. Shane has been nominated as Best Musical Director three times, winning the award for the past two years with BRAVO for Sweeney Todd and Ragtime. Recently, Shane had the privilege of conducting the BRAVO Choir for Tommy Fleming’s concert in Galway Cathedral, which was also used to record his new CD and DVD.
Shane is delighted to be working once again with StageWorks, and is looking forward to working with everyone this year.
